Mobile Automation delivered the power and controls for a silo installation at a bulk handling operation, integrated back to a control room and PLC.
The challenge
The silo needed motor supply, safety and acknowledge switching, sensor and solenoid control, and integration to a control room and PLC — commissioned and tested.
Our approach
Mobile Automation installed the power and controls and commissioned the silo's sensing and safety devices.
Scope of works
- Relocated the isolator to a more accessible position and re-ran the motor and supply cabling into junction boxes
- Installed a draw-wire acknowledge switch, terminated the PLC (24-core), and ran multicore and shielded Cat6 data back to the control room for push-button control
- Installed a VSD for the main winch
- Commissioned proximity sensors, a high-overrun switch, solenoids and reed switches (pin in/out function) and heating elements, with an energisation plan
